 THURSDAY IN SILVER SPRINGS, FL

I’M NO LONGER IN PERRY, GA!

I have left Georgia and arrived in Florida. It seems so strange to be here since I was just here in February. But the distance was “close” and the opportunity was so good!!! I’m now at Silver River State Park at a beautiful site waiting for two friends to join me for a girlfriend weekend. Maybe, it’s like a hunting weekend for the boys?

Anyway, we’re going to visit and go snorkeling and go swimming and go hiking and maybe sample some ice cream! Just fun stuff. Here’s our site…..

On Monday, I travel to Macon, GA, where I’ll be staying for 2 weeks with a NOMADS project. Looking forward to that.

That’s about it for now. You’re not going to hear from me for a few days, but don’t worry…..I’m simply enjoying a good time with good company.

Ya’ll take care,
Suzanne

P.S. Dad, prepare Mom before the next picture is viewed.

P.P.S.When I went outside to take a picture of the site, I saw this visitor gliding away.

 SECOND WEDNESDAY IN PERRY, GA

FLEA MARKET AND FOURTH OF JULY PARADE

Today was the Flea Market. I got some wonderful buys! My purchases are pretty diverse so I took a picture just for fun.

You see those little light bulbs? I bought them all for $3, and they’re usually $2 each. The clamp right next to it was free. I have no idea what to do with it, but I’m sure I’ll need it one day. Those matches were $1. Maybe that’s a good buy? Now that water hose connection gizmo was $12. I think that was good, but I’m not sure. It’s just something I’ve been wanting. The rest are just odds and ends.

So, I happily bring my purchases home and store them away. Later on, I call Mom and Dad and have a nice visit. But then I get this question from Dad….“Well, Suzanne, what items are you going to remove?” Dad just happens to know the rule for full-time RVer’s. IF A PURCHASE COMES IN THE TRAILER, SOMETHING MUST LEAVE.

So, I’ve been mulling over the dilemma, and I’ve been considering which of my household items are going. And I've come to the inescapable conclusion that the rule is not a rule…..it’s just a guideline.

Happy trails to you,
Suzanne

P.S. Here’s some pictures from our Fourth of July Parade.

 TUESDAY IN PERRY, GA

COUNTING MONEY AND POLICE DOGS

I’m the treasurer for my Ham Club, and Tuesday was money-counting day. Our club received money for dues and also for the banquet. The money-counting is easy….1…2….3…4, but that cash should match the written record of how much you have. HALLELUJAH, they matched!

Then I attended the K-Nine Dog Demonstration put on by the local law officials. All of these dogs were purchased in Europe and brought over for training after they were about a year or so old. Someone asked why American dogs weren’t used, and the answer was “American dogs are lazier.” Oh-oh, what a reputation. One of the demos was “active aggression.” One cop played the part of the bad guy mouthing off at the officer and then resisting arrest. Here’s that tough cop……….

My friends and I went out for Mexican food last night. Lots of fun, but too much rich food!

Ya’ll take care,
Suzanne

P.S. I’m off to Florida on Thursday to meet some friends and go camping at a state park. Then I will travel for NOMADS to Georgia or Mississippi or Missouri or Arkansas or Texas.

 MONDAY IN PERRY, GA

PRETTY SIGHTS AROUND THE FAIRGROUNDS

Now that I have my bike, I feel like looking around the Fairgrounds for those beautiful pictures. And I found several today. But the picture you’ll see first is the one I just took while looking out my door. I knew that my site would win the competition for being smelliest (remember, the garbage is 20 feet behind me). And I knew that I would also win for having the ugliest view. But I didn’t know that I would win the swimming award........

And now, here are some pretty pictures.

Ya’ll take care!

 SUNDAY IN PERRY, GA

BRIGHT DAY

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh. Life became much easier and much more fun today. I purchased a folding bicycle! This is a bike that folds in half and then goes in a bag. A big bag, but a bag nonetheless.

When I got home with the bike, I unboxed it, unfolded it, and rode off! I visited friends on the far side of the fairgrounds. I pedaled over to the seminars and attended one. I ran an errand for the Ham Radio club. Before today, I had been walking everywhere. And I had been making decisions based on how far the walk was. Well, that’s not good. So, I went off to Camping World and bought the bike.

I’ve shown you a few pictures here in Perry. But today, I missed a really neat picture. An elderly man was pushing his wife in a wheelchair, and it was raining. But, he wasn’t getting wet. His wife was holding the umbrella so that he was covered. A sweet, sweet scene. I missed the photo, but the picture’s in my head…..I hope it stays there a while.

I did get a nice picture, though. I took several pictures of different flowers here, but this is my favorite.

So long for now,
Suzanne
