Life on the Lake

I finally made it into Wyoming. I did make a stop in Casper when I saw a veterinary sign. Suzy does not like storms or sudden noises at night, and my supply of tranquilizers was almost gone. Before getting drugs for my dog, I googled to see if there was a way to help out "high strung" dogs. Almost all the websites said the same thing......a nervous dog might possibly be helped by having another dog as a companion, but it wasn't all that likely. A comforting owner has very little effect. The only thing for sure would be to use tranquilizers. So, Suzy has tranquilizers.
And Suzy got introduced to the lake in Wyoming. We spent two nights at Glendo State Park, and we parked right next to the lake. On the first evening, we walked to the water's edge, and I waded right in. Suzy followed without any hesitation. In fact, I think she might have even tried swimming! On the second night, Suzy insisted on visiting the lake's edge, and she walked in the water a long way while I followed at the edge. And then she learned to drink the water. This water looked pretty good.....nice and clear.....and certainly cool.
I should have gotten my swimsuit on....but I didn't! Oh well, next time.
Tomorrow, I travel into Colorado. Looking forward to a short trip and a stay at a KOA with full hook-ups. I'm ready for air conditioning! :) :) :)

Garryowen is such an interesting name, and I know I have heard it before. But where?
Maybe a TV actor?
Maybe a high school classmate?
So, I googled. And I found out that Garry Owen was the unofficial marching song of the Seventh Cavalry led by General Custer. The website I went to had the song playing, and it's a song that everyone knows. I'll hum it for you..............................
Did you recognize it?
Well, I spent the day in Garryowen, MT, just about ten miles from Custer's Last Stand. I walked to the top of the hill in this RV Park and could see where the battle took place. The valley is beautifully green with rolling hills around it.
Tomorrow, I leave Montana and head south into Wyoming. I plan on traveling just a short distance and then staying near Casper, WY. Suzy is ready for traveling again. (Suzy is my greyhound.) She definitely likes to travel in the truck. She has a nice plush bed on the back bench all to herself. She bounds in and lies down before I can even get around to the driver's side!
Looks like a good day for traveling tomorrow.
Ya'll take care, Suzanne

So, after six months, I'm back in my blogsite. Enough said on that!
Internet connections are a mystery to me. I am currently connected via Wi-Fi and I just received my email. That sounds ordinary, doesn't it? But,......3 hours ago, this Wi-Fi wouldn't let me download messages. It would take me to the internet just fine, but there was no way it was going to download messages.
For those 3 hours, I was mulling in my head that it was time to face the music and really, really learn how internet connections work. You know, the kind of learning where you can go to the different programs and change settings. And now, it seems that I can put off that education for a while yet. And I'm so upset. :) :) :) :)
I got to see a beautiful sunset tonight. I'm in Montana and am slowly traveling back to Texas. Montana is beautiful. They call it Big Sky Country, and I can see why. I'm hoping to see elk in the field next door in the morning.
Wish me luck! Suzanne
