THE EXCITEMENT COMES TO ME

It’s not often that I wake up and see something spectacular. I woke up this morning to the sound of those back-up beeps that big trucks have. But nothing was backing up. Instead, the beeps were generated when the CRANE was in motion. Here’s the CRANE….pretty big, isn’t she?



These folks were here to cut down and remove two trees about 100 yards from me. Here’s a picture of the guy that they hoisted up and over to the second tree. (Aren’t digital cameras fun? I had no idea that this guy was “playing” when I took the 20 shots of him.)



The guy’s job was to wrap the strap around the tree about 2/3 of the way up and then climb down and cut the tree. When he cut it, the CRANE operator lifted that tree! Here it is coming up.



The fella then walked around, climbed a fence, and joined his co-workers.

And I got to see it all while I was drinking my morning coffee. Pretty neat.

P.S. I'm all ready to travel tomorrow. I'll be going to Selma, AL, and spending the night there at the Children's Home. The next day, I'll travel to Biloxi, and then I'll travel to Rayne, LA. I'll make it to home base on the fourth day. Looking forward to getting home!
